How is CBD Made

When we look at medical cannabis, we usually look at not just THC, but CBD as well. CBD is the one that carries a ton of medical benefits straight through the cannabinoid itself. CBD is one of the most popular parts of the cannabis plant since this is legalized in most states of the US. The popularity is something that’s beneficial for treating just about everything from the pain that’s chronic to anxiety and stress, to even epilepsy and other conditions. Have you ever wondered through how this oil gets produced, without the element of THC added to this? Read on to find out.

First the Harvest

The journey of this begins with harvesting, and when it comes to CBD, it’s not always that simple. it’s gotten from hemp, and usually has hints of THC, but nothing too crazy. The cool thing about hemp is it takes almost no time to grow, and it’s self-sufficient provided you also keep pesticides nearby to get rid of any pests that are there. Growing it organically can be a challenge, but there are ways to do this. The key here is to make sure that the THC stays below .3% to harvest it. In some cases it’s a bit higher, then it won’t be able to make CBD, and it’s important that certain contaminants and residue does happen. CBD is also present in hemp plants, which also contain glands that are made of resin. The flowers that are there are harvested by different producers, air dried for about a month, and once it’s dried, the extraction process of this begins.

Then the extraction

During this, CBD is taken from cannabis flowers that are dried.

You’ve got two types of extraction, ethanol or CO2 that are used. Usually, for CO2, you do need more equipment to handle this, but the result is a lot purer than the later.

In the ethanol extraction, dried hemp is soaked in a solution of alcohol. While it’s good, ethanol does dissolve other parts that are within the flower, such as the cannabinoids and terpenes that aren’t psychoactive. Once complete though, you then distill it, where depending on the boiling points of this, it becomes a solid material. Usually, this is an oil that’s thick and high in CBD as well. Since these oils are rich, they are then diluted to create gels, capsules, gels, and other types of items. Many manufactures may also distill it further to bring the THC all the way down, making it full-spectrum CBD as a result.

Making the Oils

Some rands use other kinds of formulas, and usually, it just requires you to dilute it when the distillate is made, and other ingredients such amino acids and valerian root are there, creating an oil that serves medicinal purposes. Some may dilute this further with some carrier oils to create the results that you want, letting this absorb easily to get rid of the typical taste of CBD. Some of them may use lotions of balms, adding that t the distillate, to produce this, including capsules. However, in order to use dried products of CBD, you need to make sure that it’s solid beforehand.

Testing and Packaging

Finally, it’s then tested and packaged to make sure that it’s the level of product that consumers want. This also may vary in the types of testing that are used, but it’s something that, once this done, it’ll then be sent out, sealed and packaged, and there is quality assurance added to this too. There you have it, the exact process of how CBD is made.

Marijuana for Depression

Have you ever felt sad before? Well, sure. We all get sad from time to time. In fact, sadness is probably one of the more normal feelings that we can experience as human beings. There is a great difference, however, between normal sadness and depression. While sadness is a normal emotion, depression is sometimes considered a mental disorder if it goes on for too long. The reason that depression can be considered a mental disorder is because we do not really understand a whole lot about what causes someone to be depressed when all else is normal. Many people in the United States admittedly struggle with mental illness in the form of depression, and it seems that things are only getting worse for us. It is also true that there are not a lot of great medications available for people that are struggling with depression.

Therapy combined with medication is currently the best that we can do for people that have depression, and sometimes that does not even work. Could medical marijuana be used as an effective way to treat depression symptoms? Afterall, we use medical marijuana for all sorts of treatments that are not necessarily physical. Stress and anxiety are both commonly placed on state medical marijuana programs as a qualifying condition for people to get their medical marijuana card. It is estimated that there are over 16 million Americans that currently struggle with depression, and there really should be something done about that. So is it possible that medical marijuana can be used to treat depression? What does the research say? Well, that’s the tough thing about it. Since cannabis has been an illegal substance for so long, there is not a ton of research that is readily available that we can actually trust as a credible and scientifically accurate source. However, the information we do have points to promising results for using medical marijuana to treat depression.

One of the main problems for treating depression with medication is that there are not a lot of great options out there right now. If you or someone you know has struggled with depression, then you know that medications can be really hit or miss. Some of them help, many of them don’t. In some cases, prescription medication to treat depression can actually make things worse. With all of that being said, medical marijuana is generally considered a much safer and more risk free drug. That is why people use it for all sorts of health conditions like cancer, PTSD, arthritis, anxiety, and so many others. Honestly, there really is not a whole lot that cannabis can’t do. If you are wanting to try using medical marijuana for yourself, you can’t go wrong starting off with some CBD supplements or tinctures.

The reason I say this is because CBD is the part of the cannabis plant that has great healing and medicinal properties without intoxicating the patient with that “high” we all associate with smoking weed. This is probably the safest option if you are trying to get into medical marijuana, especially when it comes to treating a condition like depression. The last thing you need is for your medication to actually make your depression worse. Right now, the verdict is still out on if cannabis can actually be used to treat depression, but the most important thing to keep in mind is that it adds to your list of other medical options that you can use out there. I hope that this article was helpful for you and that you have learned more about marijuana and its uses, capabilities, and options.

All about HHC

If you’re someone who uses THC products, you’re probably familiar with this, but you may not be familiar with the more obscure kinds of cannabinoids that are in this, including HCC.  This is found in small amounts, but if you’ve been curious about the contents of cannabis, then you’ll be able to find all of this out. Here, we’ll go over just what this is, and also, what HHC can do for your body.

What HHC Is

If you’re curious about HHC, then you’re in for a treat. HHC stands for hexahydro cannabinol and is basically hydrogenated amounts of both delta 9 and delta 8 variants of THC. This is basically cannabis that’s exposed to higher amounts of hydrogen, and then, it alters the overall makeup, turning the THC into this.

In a way that we use oil hydrogenated in order to create margarine, this is basically THC, but like the not-butter type of version.

This is something that’s been in place since the 1940s, but only recently got traction as more and more look for cannabinoids that are somewhat legal. This was coined and created in 1944, by a guy named Roger Adams, who was an organic chemist that created THC, and from there, cultivated out, and then, created the CBD from this.

While this was outlawed back in 1937 by the marijuana tax act, he was able to study cannabis legally, and he also found platinum m dioxide too, and this was also found through hydrogenation.

While we do have cannabinoids that are still being studied, this is one that does happen over time through the breakdown of THC, and it also creates chemicals such as CBN.

They are psychoactive, but they’re not going to be as very reactive when you compare this directly to THC as well. This is found in very small amounts, but it’s also hydrogenated from hemp in order to create this.

Why the Extra Hydrogen Counts

The main differing factor between both of these, is the atoms of hydrogen that are in there. it’s not much, but they offer benefits that do improve, and sometimes offer benefits that are better than regular THC.

This extra amount of hydrogen also does increase the affinity of HHC to your CB1 and 2 receptors within the body, along with the pain receptors. These offer different types of processes for the body.

What this means is that it can actually help with multiple amounts of relief of pain, improving the support and appetite that you want to have, and causing feelings of euphoria that come with this. It also creates a more stabilized HHC sort of state, which means that it won't risk oxidation as much.  THC can oxidize quite fast, and that can decrease the effectiveness of that. It also has a very stable element to it, and it will not go bad.  This is something that also differs from even CBN and others, because they do go bad. Essentially, HHC is a type of isomer, and it can help with this.

The high you get

You will still get high with HHC, but it’s much more subtle. And it also usually has a higher affinity for both of these receptors. Usually, the high that this creates is euphoric, relaxing, manages pain, and it treats anxiety too.

It’s basically 80% of the power of regular THC, without having some of the risk of breaking down that THC normally deals with over time.

If you’ve been curious about HHC, it’s worth checking out and trying today, if you’re able to find a source that’s good, reputable, and gives you what you need.
